A founding member of the Papunya Tula Artists, Tjampitjinpa is known for his bold and graphic paintings detailing the stories and travels of his ancestors over the Western Desert region.
A refreshing addition to the paintings is the inclusion of a number of wood block prints, which audiences will be interested to know were hand carved by the artist. The backgrounds of the prints feature strong earth colours, overlaid by Tjampitjinpa’s signature black line work.
The exhibition is located in the Yiribana Gallery and is on until 1st November.
