On Saturday July 27th, the gallery was packed with collectors and enthusiast’s alike.
The atmosphere was electric and the crowd enjoyed refreshments well into the gorgeous Winter sunshine.
Anala Art Advisory’s current exhibition, Lynda Hyde: Colour Field Eleven has sold out in five days.
The colourful Op Art paintings attracted interest from local and international buyers, who quickly snapped up all the available works.
Gallery Manager, Sarah Birtles explains, ‘As an art advisory, we aim to put the right artworks in front of the right people at the right time.
We opened on Saturday and closed a deal for the final works with a Hong Kong client on Wednesday afternoon.
We are thrilled at the rapid success for Lynda! We were very confident going into the exhibition and so pleased that our clients have supported her first solo show with Anala.’
Lynda Hyde is a local Blue Mountains’ artist with a creative career that spans four decades. She has worked as an artist, set and costume designer and as a performer in contemporary dance, magic and mime.
Colour Field Eleven investigates her current focus into the use of visual deception, optical depth and the perception of movement. It is a fascinating intersection of Op Art, Colour Field and Hard-edge Painting. Through a clever manipulation of line and colour, Lynda is able to create optical illusions where the paintings appear to move, bulge and recede.
“I use traditional techniques and equipment from my background in drafting to create hard edged geometric paintings that explore tricks of the eye. Designed to both amuse and bemuse, they also reflect my career in Magic and Illusion.”
