Norman did not hear his own words too well.
Norman Lindsay was one of ten children from Creswick Victoria.
From an early age, Norman showed outstanding skills in his drawing capacity.
He became a cartoonist for the Bulletin Magazine, he also wrote novels, children’s books, including “The Magic Pudding” and also completed many sculptures that are found all around his beautiful property.
Norman Lindsay married Catherine Parkinson, in Melbourne on 23 May 1900…, though due to his love for his Muse, Rose Soady, Norman wasn’t able to stand by his own quotation.
Rose Soady began modelling for Lindsay in 1902. She became his second wife, his most recognizable model, his business manager, and the printer for most of his etchings.
By the time he left for London in 1909, Rose was now his wife and joined him there in 1910.
Norman Lindsay is widely regarded as one of Australia’s greatest artists, producing a vast body of work in different media of pen drawings, etchings, watercolours and oil paintings, all of which are well represented at the Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum in Faulconbridge in the Blue Mountains
